“Door de wol geverfd zou je zeggen en zo klinkt het tweede album Black Magic: All Mysteries Revealed ook. Volwassen maar met een flinke bak jongehondenenergie. Dat zou je na het korte instrumentale intro niet zeggen, maar met behulp van ‘Show Me Your Teeth’ kan er wel een deur ingetrapt worden. Gewoonweg een lekkere bak rauwe rockherrie; met ruige vocalen, vette distortion, dikke baspartijen en beukende percussie. De gierende gitaarsolo’s roepen sfeerscheppingen op uit de jaren zeventig. Led Zeppelin meets Velvet Revolver.”

“Met de zoon van Dave Davies (The Kinks) op zang en gitaar is het niet gek dat Year Long Disaster een stevige pot rock’n'roll voorschotelt. Een beetje Led Zeppelin, een beetje The Who en een beetje ZZ Top gemengd met stonerrock ala Karma to Burn welke uitmondt in een duister 70′s rock geluid. Ik voel ‘em wel! Lemmy zei ooit over deze band ”They play Rock ’n’ Roll as it should be played”. Zo is het maar net! Voor diegene die graag rockbands luisteren met flink wat skills en gepiel op bas en gitaar zonder te verzanden in een onsamenhangend geheel is dit een band om zeker te gaan checken.”

“What a nice surprise: Year Long Disaster is back with a new album. Bassist Rich Mullins was back on track with Karma to Burn last year so I couldn’t imagine he would return with a new Year Long Disaster album. Their debut was already a very interesting and smooth hardrock album, and the follow up is even better. The trio has gone in depth with their sound and wrote a couple of catchy rock songs. I think I can’t name any new hardrock band doing it better nor having the same feeling in it and adding an own twist to the genre.”

“Year Long Disaster has written the perfect music for the spring time or a hot summer evening when you are firing up the BBQ.”
