“Meesters van de stemmigheid, dit Oceansize. Al vanaf het debuutalbum Effloresce weet de band een donkere, maar prettige sfeer over te brengen. Op dit album is dat niet anders, maar dat betekent niet dat de band op herhaling gaat. In tegendeel zelfs. De muziek is zowaar nog wat donkerder. Het houdt het midden tussen een zware rockplaat en een stemmig metal album. Leidend zijn de uitgesponnen gitaarlijnen en de gevarieerde zang van frontman Mike Vennart. Voor de band zijn doen zijn de nummers aan de korte kant. Toch weten de heren telkens hun verhaal te houden. En dat doen ze onder andere met logge riffs (Part Cardiac), zoete gelaagdheid (Oscar Acceptance Speech) en ruimtelijk gitaarwerk (Ransoms). Een mooie plaat om bij in gedachten weg te voeren.”
